Promise Preschool Educators Dedicated to New Teaching Protocol and Certification Program

The Kelberman Center’s Promise Preschool kicked off its 2018-2019 school year with an exciting partnership with Pyramid Education Services. Their focus: functional communication, academic and social skills.

The 10-month rigorous evaluation and consultation program started with several staffers, 5 full days of training and a dedicated consultant ensuring the team follows and implements all components of the Pyramid to promote learning. They expect to complete the certification program by mid-2019.

According to Pyramid’s website:

The Pyramid Approach provides an organized integrated framework that focuses on teaching the team how to meet students’ individual learning needs by combining a unique blend of broad spectrum applied behavior analytic, evidence-based strategies, with a special emphasis on methods for promoting functional communication, academic and social skills.”

Information on this new initiative was provided to parents during the Promise Preschool open house and now, just a few months into the school year, the staff is already seeing progress with increased communication with children and among peers.

Our community is fortunate to have educators who are committed to learn and implement innovative ideas to help students in our preschool build functional skills and succeed in the classroom. Achieving this world-wide accreditation will further enhance the school’s recognition as a leader in ABA-based preschool programs.
