Officer Tom Medlin of the Rome Police Department recently presented a check to Kelberman for $5,200. The gift was in support of programs and services for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. Sergeant Medlin in particular has been a friend and past supporter of Kelberman, promoting autism acceptance and support in the Rome community through yearly sale of Rome Police Department autism awareness patches. Sergeant Medlin has been instrumental in reinforcing the partnership between the two agencies through advocating for and providing training to officers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to create positive interactions with those on the autism spectrum and other developmental disabilities.
