Associate Executive Director

The Associate Executive Director (AED) of the Kelberman Center will lead the growth of autism services, community education and collaborative partnership initiatives for the purpose of strengthening the infrastructure of supports available to children and adults with autism spectrum disorders and their families.  Working together with a team of professionals and volunteers, the AED will spearhead the development of the Center into a recognized state-of-the-art resource that is dedicated to progressive and research-based service provision, ongoing education and training for families and professionals in the field and the creation of successful options for individuals with disabilities. 

  • Advanced degree in education, psychology, medicine, social work or a related field.
  • Extensive current knowledge base of best practice approaches regarding assessment, medical and educational intervention strategies, research trends and effective supports for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Proven organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a senior management position in the field of healthcare, education, or disabilities services.

Educational Consultant

The Educational Consultant is a Kelberman Center employee that serves as a consultant to the local schools with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ADS) and provides leadership in the areas of program development, behavioral services and community outreach for the Kelberman Center.  The Educational Consultant works with the Director of Consultation and Behavioral Services to provide educational and behavioral services using evidence-based practices in the autism field to area agencies, school districts and individual families.   

  • Minimum of Master Degree in Psychology or Special Education or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) population, including 2 years experience with both conducting functional behavioral assessments (FBA) and writing behavioral intervention plans (BIP). Five (5) additional years of experience are required if hold Bachelors Degree only.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCABA) certification preferred.
  • Prefer 2 years experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors, 1 year experience working in public schools, and 1 year experience in Applied Behavior Analysis.


Part-time Psychiatrist 

The Kelberman Center is currently searching for a Part-time Psychiatrist to provide services to the children and adults the program serves.

  • NYS License as a Psychiatrist


Administrative Assistant

Responsible to type and maintain correspondence, coordinate assigned clerical staff if needed, attend committee meetings and take minutes, maintain filing system, generate reports and charts, process phone calls, assist in scheduling, route mail, requisition supplies and act as a program or department liaison, promote positive communications.

  • 1-3 years of experience and specialized training required

Behavior Specialist Assistant

The Kelberman Center Behavior Specialist Assistant works directly with students with ASD providing academic, social, and behavioral support IN PUBLIC SCHOOL SETTINGS. The Behavior Specialist Assistant assists with development AND implementation of behavior support plans, records data on social, and behavioral goals, completes required documentation, and participates in Agency activities.

Essential duties and responsibilities

- Collect and maintain data on social, and behavioral goals
- Assist with transitions of students
- Assist with social, and behavioral assessment of students
- Follow behavioral support plan to decrease challenging behaviors of students
- Provide 1:1 support to a student when needed
- Complete all required documentation according to the agency's program regulations.
- Participate in activities as part of the treatment team that may include meetings, trainings, and committees
- Establish a work environment that creates positive communication WITH SCHOOL DISRICT
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and Agency regulations and operating standards.

Educational Requirements/ Qualifications/Experience

- Minimum of Bachelors degree in field of psychology , EDUCATION, OR RELATED FIELD
- Understanding of the characteristics of persons with autism
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the specific job
- Must have a valid New York State Driver's License
